Partnership enables iPass to quickly deploy a cost-effective solution for customers to locate its Wi-Fi and Ethernet locations throughout the world
SAN FRANCISCO, CA., -- March 8, 2004 -- JiWire, the industry?s first one-stop wireless portal, today announced it has signed a worldwide broadband directory licensing agreement with iPass Inc. (Nasdaq:IPAS). JiWire will provide a proximity-based search tool with mapping capabilities and detailed venue information for the more than 7,800 hotspot and 1,400 Ethernet-enabled locations on the iPass Global Broadband Roaming (GBR) network. The private-labeled iPass Broadband Finder includes additional features and functionality only available through JiWire?s interactive directory services:
-Proximity-based search tool ? geo-coded location data enables users to search on a specific address and view the locations closest to their search parameters - Mapping -- allows customers to plot the location of an access point, and to display walking or driving directions to and from a particular access point.. - Detailed venue information ? provides customers with bandwidth and environment specifics, as well as other important location amenities, verified by JiWire?s global staff.
